COURSE OVERVIEW

Modern road vehicles rely on increasingly complex software, connectivity and digital technologies, making cybersecurity an essential part of the product lifecycle. This course provides a structured introduction to automotive cybersecurity engineering, focusing on the implementation of the UNECE R155 regulation and the application of ISO/SAE 21434 throughout vehicle development and post-production activities. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of automotive cybersecurity principles, regulatory requirements and engineering practices that support the development of secure and compliant vehicle systems.

The course covers the fundamental concepts of automotive cybersecurity, including the regulatory framework established by UNECE R155, the structure and application of ISO/SAE 21434, Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA), cybersecurity validation and verification, and cybersecurity activities across the product lifecycle. Participants will develop a practical understanding of how cybersecurity risks are identified, assessed and managed during development, production and post-production operations. Through instructor-led discussions and practical examples, learners will understand how cybersecurity engineering activities contribute to building resilient automotive systems while supporting regulatory compliance and organisational cybersecurity management.
