COURSE OVERVIEW
Project management involves using a variety of methods to achieve goals and improve project success. Our training focuses on the essential best practices that project managers need to deliver projects on time and within budget. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of project management concepts and tools, and learn how to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to real-world project scenarios.
The course covers critical aspects of project management such as project governance, project charter development, work breakdown structures (WBS), time/cost/effort estimation, effective communication and capturing lessons learned. By integrating active learning and promoting higher-order thinking skills, the course prepares learners to create robust project plans, allocate resources and tasks efficiently, meet deadlines, and systematically close projects while capturing valuable lessons for future improvement. Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully manage projects in a variety of contexts, and to position them for success in their project management endeavours. The training provides practical exercises, class discussions and lessons based on a case study from the software industry.
